ISRAELI - PALESTINIAN WAR
How and when did the war start?
The The Israeli-Palestinian conflict began in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the emergence of significant nationalism movements among Jews and Arabs, both of which aimed to establish sovereignty for their respective peoples in the Middle East.[32] The British government publicly endorsed the creation of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine in 1917, during the First World War, in the Balfour Declaration .Following the outbreak of Palestinian nationalism following the Franco-Syrian War in the 1920s, the clash between the two groups in southern Levant intensified into the sectarian struggle in Mandatory Palestine in the 1930s and 1940s, which eventually broadened into the larger Arab-Israeli conflict.

The struggle for the construction of a national home for the Arabs of Palestine began with the return of a number of hard - line Palestinian Arab nationalists, under the developing leadership of Haj Amin al-Husseini, from Damascus to Mandatory Palestine. The founder of the Palestinian Arab national movement, Amin al-Husseini, instantly identified Jewish immigration to Palestine and the Jewish national movement as the only enemies of his cause. As a result, he started large-scale riots against Jews as early as 1920 in Jerusalem and 1921 in Jaffa. The creation of the Jewish paramilitary group haganah was one outcome of the bloodshed. 133 Jews and 116 Arabs were killed in a series of violent riots in 1929, with the majority of the Jewish casualties occurring in Hebron and Safed.
What happend to Israel?
At about 6.30 a.m. (0430 GMT) Palestinian Islamist group Hamas fired a huge barrage of rockets across southern Israel, with sirens heard as far away as Tel Aviv and Beersheba. Hamas said it had fired 5,000 rockets in a first barrage. Israel's military said 2,200 rockets were fired. Smoke billowed over residential Israeli areas and people sheltered behind buildings as sirens sounded overhead. At least one woman was reported killed by the rockets.

Israel responded by conducting "Operation Iron Swords," which targeted Hamas facilities in Gaza. The international community has voiced its concerns and positions on the matter, including those of India, the US, the EU, and others. The inability of Israel's intelligence service, Mossad, to foresee such an attack is a major topic of dispute. Although the Palestinian cause has a long history and deserves support, using terrorists is abhorrent. It is crucial to keep in mind our shared humanity and hold out hope for a peaceful resolution, imagining an Israel-Palestine that is united and where everyone enjoys liberty and equality.
